I have learned that many meso survivors suffer long term chronic pain. My daughter has gone thru a real merry go round of doctors, meds, therapys, etc., trying to find reliable relief to be able to function normally. In this quest we've come across a variety of attitudes. Some said because she no longer has active cancer she does not have cancer pain. She's been treated like an addict also. She's been told it's all muscular & put thru regimines of physical therapy. Some physical therapy was helpful. It was not a replacement for pain meds. Over time some meds have lost their effectiveness. I was recently directed to a very helpful web site, cancerpain.org. There's very good info on all subjects related to cancer pain. Thru this site you can also find the info on hospital regs that do not allow a patient complaining of pain to be ignored! I hope that this site will be of help to someone else struggling to live with chronic pain. You all have the right to relief from that pain.
